Frequently Asked Questions

I have 35% disability. Am I eligible?

No — the minimum disability threshold is 40% for all government disability scholarships. For a borderline case, request a re-evaluation at your government district hospital.

Can I get NHFDC scholarship and NSP disability scholarship simultaneously?

Generally no — you should not receive two central scholarships for the same purpose. However, NHFDC scholarship is for different loan-linked programs, so check the specific conditions with NHFDC.

What is UDID card and how does it help?

UDID (Unique Disability ID) is a digital disability identity card from swavlambancard.gov.in. Having a UDID card simplifies applying for scholarships and other disability benefits — it stores all disability details digitally. Get it once and use everywhere.

My disability is congenital (from birth). Do I need special documentation?

All disabilities — whether from birth or later in life — are treated the same. Your government disability certificate (with % disability) is sufficient.
