Frequently Asked Questions

My disability is 35%. Am I eligible?

No — the minimum disability threshold is 40%. For a 35% assessment, visit a government CMO or hospital for re-assessment if you believe the rating is incorrect.

My old disability certificate expired. Do I need a fresh one?

Disability certificates for permanent disabilities generally don't expire. For progressive/changing conditions, periodic re-evaluation may be needed. Check with the CMO office.

Can I apply for both Divyang Pension and PMJDY or other benefits?

Yes — disability pension has no conflict with Jan Dhan account benefits, PMJAY health insurance, or other schemes. You can and should avail all applicable benefits.

I have an UDID card. Does that replace the disability certificate for pension?

UDID card information is linked to disability records. In many cases, UDID card is accepted as the disability proof. Confirm with your Block Social Welfare office.

My application was rejected. What to do?

Check the rejection reason on sspy-up.gov.in. Common reasons: income above limit, disability below 40%, missing documents. Fix the issue and reapply.
