Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a reserved quota within YASASVI?

Yes — within the total scholarship seats, there is reservation for women, students with disabilities, and candidates from specific sub-categories within OBC/EWS/NT/DNT.

I am an OBC student but studying in a private unaided school. Am I eligible?

For YASASVI, the student should be in a government, government-aided, or government-recognised school. Unaided private schools may not qualify — check the notification for the exact current year's criteria.

Can I apply for YASASVI if I already have a state OBC scholarship?

YASASVI is a central scheme. Receiving a state scholarship may or may not disqualify you — check the current year's notification carefully. Generally, you should not hold two scholarship amounts for the same purpose.

When does the YET exam happen each year?

NTA typically announces YASASVI in June–July each year with exams in August–September. Check yet.nta.ac.in for the current year's schedule.

What if I score well in the test but move to a private school?

The scholarship may be cancelled if you transfer to an ineligible school. Verify the rules before transferring.

Is the scholarship for full year or per semester?

It is an annual scholarship — ₹75,000 or ₹1,25,000 paid per year directly to your bank account.
